How to Choose the Right Custom Paper Tape for Your Packaging Process
There are plenty of options for sealing up your packages for shipping, but only one is recyclable even on the box, and it bonds better with cardboard boxes compared with other options. We are, of course, talking about paper tape, and what makes it even better is when it is custom printed paper tape from Phoenix Tape & Supply. But just because you have settled on using paper tape for your packages that you will ship doesn’t mean that your decisions are done. You will want to understand tape thickness options, the length of your rolls, tape color, as well as how many colors you want to have for your branding. We’ll provide details on each of these, and you can always reach out to our team anytime when you have questions or to start your order. We have more than 40 years of experience in custom tape printing, so you can trust our expertise.
Start With the Tape Thickness
In the decision tree for picking out the perfect paper tape for your needs, we’ll start with the tape thickness itself. If you have smaller and lighter packages that don’t exceed 30 pounds, then the 240-grade paper tape is the ideal solution. For those packages that exceed 30 pounds but are under 55 pounds, the 260-grade paper tape will be your choice. It isn’t unusual for shipping businesses to need both strengths of tape depending on what they are shipping.
Your tape length is another important consideration. If you are using an automated tape dispensing machine, longer tape rolls are ideal for fewer roll changes. However, if you value portability, then shorter rolls work best. The tape color is another choice you have, with either the standard tan to match regular cardboard boxes or white for more contrast with your custom printing.
Coloring For Your Custom Brand Printing
This is the final step before choosing the number of cases you want to order. Depending on what your logo, brand, etc. looks like, you might be looking at a single-color choice to keep your branding easier. However, we can handle up to 3 colors total on the custom paper tape, in addition to the color of the tape itself, which can be considered a fourth color. This is where our team can really be an asset to clients in helping them develop just the right approach to their custom printing on the paper tape.
As you can see, there are several additional steps to consider beyond just choosing paper tape as your custom printed packing tape of choice. At Phoenix Tape & Supply, we have been helping clients for decades choose the right options for their business to help enhance their brand and spread their message.
