Are You Using the Right Tape?

Printed Packing Tapes

We’ve been creating custom shipping tape for the last 35 years and if there’s one thing we’re confident telling our customers it’s that not every type of tape is right for every job.

Today we’re going to look at some of the different tapes of tape we offer and their key selling points. It’s our hope that this guide helps you determine which type of custom shipping tape you need. Continue reading “Are You Using the Right Tape?”

Packing Tape 101

Packing tape seems simple: Some plastic – or in some cases, paper – combined with an adhesive to keep a box or other packaging secure during transit.

The truth is much more complicated. Not every tape is the same. Some varieties of printed packing tape are better suited to certain jobs than others.

In this blog post, we’ll break down the basics of our tapes and which types of tape work best for different applications. Continue reading “Packing Tape 101”

What Color Tape Should I Choose?

Different colors trigger different responses in our brains. That’s what the study of color psychology is all about, the study of how different hues affect our emotions.

And that’s an important consideration when choosing your company logo and deciding what colors to pick when designing printed packing tape.

What Type of Tape Should I Use?

Printed polypropylene-tape

Most of us know that different tapes have different jobs. You wouldn’t use Scotch tape for home repairs, nor would you break out a roll of duct tape to wrap presents.

The same is true in the world of custom packing tape. PVC tape, polypropylene tape, paper or flat back tape: they’re all highly-effective tapes, but there are some situations where one might work better than the others. Let’s take a closer look at the features of these different tapes.

Will My Tape Work in Cold Temperatures?

Freezer Tape

We’ve sold a lot custom tape rolls over the years, and we stand by their ability to perform as promised, offering clients both a secure way to ship their products and a way to advertise their brand.

However, we realize that not every tape is meant for every job. For example, when temperatures get too cold, some tapes just won’t work.

In this blog post, we’ll explore why that happens, and discuss the features and benefits of using hi-tack freezer tape. Continue reading “Will My Tape Work in Cold Temperatures?”

Don’t Make These Logo Mistakes

Back in August, we wrote about some of the ways to get potential customers to notice your logo, such as using the right color and embracing simplicity. Unfortunately, it’s also possible for your logo to get noticed for the wrong reasons. Any company can make logo mistakes, even ones as big as Google.  Back in the late 1990s, before Google got gargantuan, there was a brief period where its logo had an exclamation point…just like Google’s chief rival, Yahoo!

Copying someone else’s logo, even unintentionally, is an obvious example of what not to do when creating a logo for your custom shipping tape. Here are a few others:

Why You Need Your Logo on Your Packing Tape

Logo on Poly 2-ink

When you’re trying to cut costs for your business, the idea of using custom printed tape might seem a little bit frivolous.

After all, why spring for a packing tape with a logo when you could just ship products with plain clear tape? We’d argue that a packing tape with logo is an investment, not an expense.

Here are a few reasons why a packing tape with logo can help your business stand out:

Master of Its “Kraft”: The Benefits of Paper Tape

Branded Paper Tape Rolls

Just as there’s no one from Scotland involved in the creation of Scotch Tape – it was invented in Minnesota – there’s no one named Kraft behind the creation of kraft tape.

It’s a tape made from paper that is itself made from what’s known as the “kraft process,” the chief method for producing paper. (Kraft in this case comes from the German word for “strength,” meant to denote the superior strength of the paper.)

But that strength is just one of many benefits of kraft tape. Read on to learn why this tape can be a good fit for your company’s packaging. Continue reading “Master of Its “Kraft”: The Benefits of Paper Tape”

How to Make Your Logo Stand Out

Pretty much every business has a logo, but not all of those logos are memorable. Not everyone can give the world the Nike swoosh, Apple’s apple, or the Starbucks mermaid.

But that doesn’t mean your logo needs to be dull. After all, our customers who request a packing tape with logo do so because they hope to be noticed.

Here are a few ways to make that happen.
