Cold Weather Packing Woes: Tapes That Beat the Chill for Shipping Success

High-Tack Freezer Tape and Custom Low Temperature Tape

Regular packing tape works great in a variety of different situations, except when the temperatures drop. Either you will have a hard time getting the tape to stick when sealing up a package, or the tape will not stay closed after time in a lower temperature. At Phoenix Tape & Supply, we know how frustrating this can be, which is why we offer hi-tack freezer tape with your custom design on it. This custom freezer tape is designed to keep its sticking power as the temperatures go down, meaning you won’t have to worry about your packages falling open when they should be sealed. Why Does Regular Packing Tape Not Work

With our regular custom printed packaging tape, the adhesive portion of the tape needs to remain sticky to work, and that happens when it is both applied and stored in temperatures that are well above freezing. As the temperature drops, this normal adhesive doesn’t work like it should any longer, and it can’t stick to anything. Our high tack freezer tape solves this problem by having a sticky component that works in lower temperatures and stays attached.

If you could get your regular packing tape to adhere to the package, if that package is then stored in a cold environment, such as a walk-in freezer, the tape is likely to fail for the same reason that it wouldn’t adhere in a cooler environment. With our custom freezer tape, it will go on and adhere at temperatures down to 20 degrees, and once adhered the tape will hold in even lower temperatures like in a storage freezer at temps of zero degrees.

Use The Right Tool for The Job

It is important that you use the right tool for the job. When you know that you will be working in or storing packages in cooler temperatures, the right tool to have is our hi-tack freezer tape. The adhesion properties will allow it to stick to packages better, especially in cooler temperatures, and with a good bond in place our custom freezer tape will hold and not get brittle and fail in cold temperatures. It might seem like a minor thing, but having tape fail when you need it most is frustrating.

Our custom low temperature tape comes in either clear or white varieties and can feature up to three different ink colors. They can also come in either two-inch-wide rolls or three-inch-wide rolls. Having the right high tack freezer tape with your custom brand from Phoenix Tape & Supply will make a big impact with all of your customers. Contact us today to learn more.
